    Version Control Software

I am looking for easy to use version control software.
Does vBulletin use a particular tool?

I have a site I maintain with one other person, and it's pretty much uncontrolled at this time. We each make changes without knowing what the other is doing. It's our departments site, it's a non-profit site, and there is no money involved, so I am not too worried about it, but it has lead to a few conflicts with changes that were made and was looking to clean it up a bit.

    Thanks

Tortoise SVN is a great tool. I have used that for a while and I really like it. I think vBulletin may use the same but i'm not sure.

I use SVN on all major projects that have more than one developer.

          Thanks for the quick replies.
          Is this web-based?

You can configure a SVN server and use a web based checkout utility.

SVN, CVS, Git. Take your pick Git seems to be pretty fashionable these days but I'm happy with SVN

I use SVN (CodeSpaces as my host) and Coda for my editor, which has SVN built in.

I just use a local SVN repo. I will use a server-based SVN when its more than one person developing though.

                    Thanks again for these suggestions.
I am looking for a web based tool (there are two of us using it), but it looks like these need a dedicated server. I found VisualSVN, but the file is a .msi file. I am on a shared server and can't install this.
                    Are there other options?

You're going to need some sort of SVN/CVS server appiclation for what you want.

Thanks, maybe this is beyond what we can do at this time then.

Some shared hosts allow you to set up SVN repositories, but it usually requires a bit of technical know-how.

Personally, I know and have used Unfuddle, and I am currently using CodeSpaces. Very nice systems.

Thanks, we'll take a look. They offer free accounts, and since this is a work project (I work at a non-profit hospital), free is just the right price.
