    • Anyone know something similar to twitterfeed (posting twits from an RSS) that you can specify the order of the ítems, like:

      $title - bit.ly/o234o - $description

Right now twitterfeed posts like this:

      $title: $desctiption bit.ly/ois2f3

edit: anyone knows if tweetdeck or any of those other apps can post on twitter using a RSS feed?

      • You'll find a number of plugins that integrate your site with Twitter at www.vbulletin.org. If you're using other software, they probably have addons for Twitter as well.

I guess my first problem is not knowing how to enable RSS on my forum. I'll do a search here

I have had to un-follow several people whose (apparently) personal accounts bombard me with auto-generated site-related tweets. If I want to follow website.com, I'd look for a Twitter account identified as such. I guess all this stuff will work itself out eventually.
I've had to unfollow a few people for this reason as well.

This is why I recently disabled the twitter feeds, and installed the Tweet This mod from .org. There's no need for every single thread/post to be fed to Twitter accounts. Only those that might interest everyone.

I just installed twitterfeed to my forum. I set it to tweet a new thread (from a specific forum) every 6 hours. my forum is rather slow so I might have a tweet every 12 hours. not too bad I think

To be honest Twittering to much stuff a day just gets you removed from peoples list. I could Twitter each article I post, plus 6 image links if I wanted all leading too separate pages linked to the same article. I did do it at first, but quickly realised it just looks like I'm spamming when you have 7 tweets done all done at once. So now I just tweet the single article instead.

After I removed about 60 people yesterday, only keeping movie related twitter people in my list, plus some staff and a few people from here. I lost about 20 people following me, but now I have gained them numbers back, and they are people related to movies. Today I've had 5 people so far add me. But I've not followed any of them after looking what they are twittering about, which in most cases is just promotional stuff like Web Hosting and other rubbish like that.

To be honest though, I couldn't care less how many people follow me or not really. Twitter does what I need it to do using the hash "#" code.

Twitter is great for site promotion. Get people to follow you, tie your site's RSS feed into the account, and sit back. Much easier getting answers to questions as well. Toss your question out into the internet and bam you get a lot of responses.

Don't really do the broadcast every minute of my life but you can learn about your followers through their tweets and use that to broaden your online experience.
                    HI
This Twitter sparks the evolution of internet marketing. Already, countless ways exist to market products and services on the web: viral reports, e-commerce, pay per click systems, simple banner advertisements, Google adwords, voice broadcast marketing and others. It was only a matter of time until marketing got its hands on social networking –social marketing.

                    • I always ask people once a month to let me know in a DM or email what they like best and least on my stream, so I can keep that in mind. Otherwise I just continue as I am.

                      • I'm lovin the RSS feed to my twitter....as of right now I have my General Gallery Forum linked to it...new tweet every 6 hours.

do you guys think that is too much "spam" to tweet?

well mine is a photography forum...you cant subscribe to it. so if someone is interested in seeing the random pictures people post on my forum, the only way to see the feed is via twitter.

Just add the link to an RSS feed reader and get daily updates. Twitter is just another method, not the only method.
