Hmm, for Perl I guess www.ikonboard.com will be good if 3.0 is out with mySQL support. Else there is http://www.phpbb.net or OpenBB from which I don't know the URL.
May you do a search on http://www.hotscripts.com. At http://www.woltlab.de is another good forum. In german though...

You could check out the phpBB version 2 beta at http://phpbb.sf.net/phpBB2 Beta 2 will be coming out soon and you should be able to use it in a production environment.

Using an illegal copy of vBulletin like that can get you in trouble and giving out vBulletin like that is also illegal,

Kurt Cobain, I would recommend just using a free forum system or buying a vBulletin license rather than using an illegal copy of vBulletin.

Which one of these forums recommended is an illegal copy of vBulletin. As far as I know, none of them are.

None. The offending posts were deleted.

oh... Just visited the phpBB version 2 beta, seems that is not bad and the function near VBB. I worry more people will going to use the free phpBB version 2 when it release. I don't know my thinking is right or not.

VBB developers, would you have any planing to do when phpBB version 2 released? I just feel I pay VBB because the support people. anyone have another idea and reason?

well I am going to sup-port VB all the way, because I love these hacks, and I am really starting to learn php because of VB, and well the phpportals is an added bonus, because I have had to work on them more also...so I like to show my loyality...and I trust people here, not that I don there, but I think it is just a great free bord if thats what you can afford ya know, its like Nikes and he Walmart brand, I have had to wear Walmart brad shoes before, but when I can I go for the Nikes...is that a bad similie...???

I can make forums to your requirements/criteria, for a small price of course, nothing over £50 though

For my point of view, I really want VBB will keep going forever ( because I am a registered user and the support staff already help me solve the problem ).

I am a UltraBoard user before. ( you know UltraBoard was closed ) so I bought VBB.

What's the reason for me to buy VBB? Because..
                        • 1. Nice interface.
                        • 2. Good Supporting staff
                        • 3. Technology and performance: PHP, MySQL, Good coding for easy modify.
                        • 4. Have many hacked.

Thinking about the above points and compare the VBB and PHPBB so you will know why I am worry on it.

I don't want VBB is another UltraBoard, so I want to tell VBB people to beware the competitor.

I am not say VBB is not the best currently, I just want VBB keep on going forever so we must face to the fact and make the product better then other!

VBB, Keep on your hardworking and we will supporting you forever! and thanks for all users to supporting them

I don't want to change another program because it is so headache.

We know the competition is getting much better (and in the case of phpBB, has a bigger development team than we do ), but we've got some very cool stuff in store for the future to make all of your minds up again that nothing even comes close to vB
