General anti-Microsoft stuff. Microsoft are the devil for wanting to be successful.

I'm not quite sure what all the fuss is about, yes I run Google Ads but I also respect that my users have a right to know what is happening with their information when they browse the net. I hope that the majority will not use this against Google Ads and other legitimate ad groups and instead just target the not so savoury types.

it is well known that microsoft do not like how successful google is
No business would be delighted with a competitor being successful in a market place in which they both compete, it isn't a trait unique to Microsoft.

Safari doesn't have anywhere near as much as a monopoly for starters. 2ndly, it is well known that microsoft do not like how successful google is and.. (leading on to my 3rd point) may add them to the 'default' setting - so once people go in this mode it automatically blocks google ads.

Of course we won't know for sure until it is released.

Hmm, it is a bit fishy, seeing as how Microsoft seems to try to tackle pretty much any field available in technology. I think Microsoft really needs to re-examine itself and cut the fat from what they take on.

Lately, I've read quite a few reviews on the company that agree the time when they focused on Windows and the Office sweet were the golden years (early to mid '90's). There was a magazine article I just read that mentioned how Microsoft is coming out with such quality products in gaming, mostly due to how they have a band of smaller companies putting out the games for them.

I do agree, if web admins start noticing a steep decline in income and a greater number of IE8 users coming in, it doesn't take much to figure out. IE might be the de facto now, but they certainly have enough rope to hang themselves with.

    Microsoft's effort to kill google?

Either way, if they do anything that leads to the blocking of Google ads en mass i.e. putting google in the default setting (look out for the 'automatically' option in the vid), they may well find that the website owning community who have google ads on their site end up blocking their latest browser instead...
