    Way Off-Topic Question about vbulletin

Hi, I am probably asking this in the wrong place on the forum...but, I'm a regular poster on a forum powered by vbulletin and the dates got all messed up. Two days ago the dates showed two days in the future. One of the posters commented that this was a classic sign of a malware or virus attack, but I don't know what he means. Is there some way my computer is at risk...should I stop posting on this forum?

    Thanks for any help.

I'll see if I can figure it out, but I'm just a poster, not the owner...I don't know anything about vbulletin.

Can you tell me how I'd find the version?

The owner might want to upgrade the software first due plug may flaws in that version on the script.

There is a possible risk that the server had been compromised and if it did, you might be at risk if the vBulletin files are no longer the original as provided through the download of the software.

Consult the website/forum owner/administrator for further information.

No, this is usually a sign that the server time was off when those posts were made.

But is it possible that the server time was changed because of a virus or malware attack?

I guess my main question is...should I be concerned?

Could you explain this a little more, because I haven't gotten a response from the admin...what would the possible risk be and how would I know if the files are no longer the original as provided through the download?

I have never heard of a virus or malware changing the server time. Crackers tend to have bigger things in mind.

There is nothing more we can do for you. This is something the Admin will have to sort out.
