I got a new dedicated server at VenturesOnline a few weeks ago, and have done a ton of configuration modifications, tweaks, and software installations in hopes of getting the same performance out of the new server as I did with my current host FutureQuest.net.
We have a #1 Package w/ 512 MB of RAM (total), and that should be sufficient for the content portion of my site, and the moderate traffic of the site that I am sharing the server with. But it's not, and I'm afraid to move my forums over to the new server because the response times are so slow for me.
Tonight, I did a trace to the server, and discovered that it's actually Verio's network that is horrible, and that all the server tweaks in the world wouldn't help things. But, I don't know if this is just for me (and my ISP @ work and home), or for everyone. So, this is where I need YOUR help
.
Could you kindly do a tracert to the following IP address: 130.94.172.201, and either email it to me or post it here as well as telling me where you're accessing from? That would help me decide whether this problem effects everyone, or just me.
Your help is appreciated, and I will return the favor should you need it in the future
.
Thanks a ton!
