Clicking on the link produces an offer to download a binary file and if I can't spend it .. I don't want it

Just for people who are a little worried, the file is harmless, it's just a 20mb file full of nothing ... literally

Inconclusive. It kept going faster and faster. It didn't peak for me.

                Just go to speedtest.net.

whitetigergrowl - we're not interested in your ISPs performance, rather the performance of the data centre the test file is on

For me, the maximum is of 309 KB / sec. I am in Sibiu-Romania and my ISP is a company called Asconet.

How much you people pay for your connection ? I only pay 9 euros. The speed is good and the latency is small.

I had to do it twice, because the big version I recorded was over in a second or two .. http://www.vbulletin-fans.com/iShowU-Capture2.mov

I have a 20mbit connection and am getting proper speed (2mbyte/sec) from that location.
I have UPC Chello Internet - and am from the Netherlands.

                            Cheers everyone!

Nice one Floris! It looks as though the browser starts the download as soon as you click the link (opera does the same) - hence the first vid was so quick. Nice and fast tho!

Love the tune too! Will see if I can find it somewhere

Maybe. But at the same time there are a lot of varying factors for the speed. Mine never peaked with that file, nor did it stay in a constant range. It's inconclusive. Factors such as the ISP do play into the speed at which its downloaded, as well as where on planet earth you are downloading it from. So far, as this thread has proven, the speeds, as expected, all vary with no real constant. Which is what should be expected.
