8 out of 10 computer users recommend the [X] button as the best free popup blocking solution... But I guess that wouldn't work for you :P

I use AdBlock Plus plugin for Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865

What comes with your Operating System. I have no issues with my Xp Pro 'Secuity Center' since it was added. It does stop some pop-unders, but you still get pages that open once you enter a site full of adverts.

You have to test toolbar addons and or

I've noticed that my iMac does not have any problems with pop-up ads even though I have not added anything beyond the normal browsers. Is that normal for Macs?

Yep, using Safari and Firefox on a Mac does browse more comfortable, but there will be popups and unwanted ads on sites. With adblock plus you can allow it on a per site level, and block everything else. I've added the sites from my bookmarks to the allow list. And unknown sites won't surprise me now with blockups or ads.

But if you go on sites such as playstation.co.uk, then you won't get any of that.

Remember, you control the computer, so its down to you if you get ads
Um, I get popups on news sites etc. Hardly porn.

Trust me, I have better things to do than look at porn all day.

lol, nope really. No porn for me.

I'd rather do it for real with my girlfriend.

Me I recommand Firefox + NoScript + CookieSafe + Adblock Plus + Adblock Plus Element Hiding Helper with all that you are almost safe to most common webattacks by default.

I'm still confused how some of pop-up ads still appear though you've pop-up blocker installed, most of these come from expired domains these are awaiting renewal.

Free, dunno. Hmm...Possibly disabling scripts for those sites would do the trick. Though, it may interfere with viewing performance.

You will not stop every popup with free versions, as they can be easily defeated at some point. If the author updates the addon regularly, then it is a good option.

I gave that up when I was about 14. Have been in a steady relationship with a sweet, caring girl going on just under 6 years now.

                              Can you say the same?
