  • Ok, I give up! Read all I need to read here.

I've come to the conclusion, regardless of what I attempt to learn here I'm still going to be "way behind the curve". When I can see those here that are professionals can't program anything that's secure and have it last for any length of time says a lot to me. Heck when China can hack into our country's top secret computers at will or some twelve year old on your block, makes it laughable to think anyone would want copy rights on any security program. I'm mentioning security because a lot of what I read deals with that issue, not just here. No different than what Microsoft and others had to deal with and is still dealing with today.

At one time I could "upgrade" my cars carburetor from a two barrow to a 4 barrow without dismantling the whole car there by screwing up the whole thing.

Whatever changes I make with my program there will always be something that isn't compatible with those changes, let alone importing other software that will surly mess things up from what I gather.

So I can see the big picture, this is a war I won't embark on. When you have so many computer geniuses doing their own thing, what results is chaos. All are attempting to build a huge dam to profit and no one cares how it's put together.

I'll just have to find someone I can afford that will make the changes I want and be available to keep "patching" things up until the dam breaks.

Thanks to all here that tried to help me and don't get me wrong, vBulletin is running just fine and I don't want to mess it up.

    Happy Holidays.
