  • Forum Interviews and Reviews...

I'm almost done with the review, so I guess I'd let you guys get first crack on seeing this:

More than a month ago, I have gathered together five of the top consumer forum scripts on the Web and decided to do a forum script shoot-out. These scripts are: vBulletin, UBB, phpBB, Ikonboard and WWWThreads.

While I am not yet done with the reviews themselves (will be done this week though), I am done with the interviews with each of the creators of the forum scripts in the line-up.

So if you guys would like to take a gander, just go to the link below:
    http://www.opentechsupport.net/forum...?s=&forumid=59

It presents some very interesting viewpoints from the minds of the forum creators themselves... Lemme know what you think, and stay tuned for the full review this week

I don't want to bash anyone but some people come out better than others in their interviews: I also suspect their are going to be some pissed off people when one of those interviews is circulated

Actually, those interviews seem pretty fair IMHO. However, everyone mentioned their forte's and not any weaknesses .. I wonder why?

Those are excellent - thank you.
I won't mention any names but I do feel that in some of those interviews, the people concerned weren't being totally fair to their competitors however.

                um .. yeap...
One of the people intereviewed were very full of themselves and might not have told the truth

[just rambling...] 5 is actually faster than 6...

Great work I like them all and each has a nice segment of BB users.

Unfortunetly, someone made a "PR" nono when they said:"....Always be wary of those operations... the odds are that the new features have not been very well tested and that the imitation that they created is all facade. "

Not only is this factually incorrect BUT never talk about your competition in those terms. Never worry about your competition like that. As someone once said " If you worry about your competition a lot then you should join them "

One should not infer from my statemnents that all the products under interview don't have their place in the market and aren't hugely successfull. They are! Different strokes for different folks

I hope and pray my comment is appropriate. If not, you know what to do
                    Have a great day :)

That was a great idea and you did a very nice job with it. Tell me, did you do the interviews over the phone or did you submit questions to them via e-mail?

All the interviews were done through email. And I would like to thank John here, as well as the other forum creators, for agreeing to do the interview...

Stay tuned for the forum script review/comparison this week!

Just checking HTML 4.01 Transitional Compatability as John claims in the interview:

                              http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=ht...1+Transitional

                              It doesn't check out???
