I have two sites going at two different providers.

                    www.dreamhost.com

                    www.lunarpages.com

Dreamhost is ok, but I would recommend lunarpages. Seems like dreamhost has had more slowdowns or network issues that lunarpages. Lunarpages has better download speeds also.

I have also used www.godaddy.com for a webhost. Didn't care for them much.

Yes, but are you looking for a shared host, where you share the server and it's resources with many other users?

A VPS, where you share a server with others, but have root access to it and share it on a different level.

Or Dedicated, where youre on your own server, all resources are allocated to you, you don't share any resources with any other users..
Full root access, and full access to the server itself...

You might want to look on :

There's a TON of information there about hosting services. I did a lot of sleuthing there before choosing :

                            www.asmallorange.com

They've been satisfactory so far, I'm just running a couple of small, low bandwith sites, so don't know how they are on large more trafficked sites.
