Any idea on how to tell what the make of my sound card is? (I remember a programme what you downloaded and it told you everything..)

    Please help, cheers.

You could always try taking it out and reading it.

Did you try: Control Panel -> Sound and Audio Devices

Open up your computer read your board name google like this (put quotes too): "Model - manufacture - drivers"

Replace model & manufacture with what's on your board.

WHat make and model is your board?

If it uses an nVidia chipset you can get reference drivers from their site that usually work.

                I found this.

                Unimodem Half-Duplex Audio Device

What drivers will they be then?

BTW, this would be your onboard software based modem. Practically every motherboard has one these days since they only cost like a dollar to include.

Just in case someone else is having this same problem, there is software that can be used in these cases, such as Unknown Device Identifier, which can be downloaded from here.
