  • I give up...

Ok, I officially give up with windows server 2003 enterprise SP1 as it won't even install now, plus the advice the BSOD (blue screen of death) it gives is just stupid, I've done memory check, and cpu the works, but my question is how am I supposed to press F8 to select advanced start-up options and select safe mode when windows set-up won't even complete?

        Commercial beyond Commercial.

IRIX is Silicon Graphic's Unix based OS. It only runs on SGI workstations and you need a valid support contract to install and run it. Though SGI has stopped shipping it as of March 2007. All their new workstations simply use Linux.

I would, but none of my staff know how to use Linux

Also, Managed to get windows installed by installing from a boot able OS.

Why don't you teach them? You can install a GUI to a server OS if you want, although the idea is to keep it as light and simple as possible.

Well, I never install evel software, well I do if I know when it will expire & how much full version will cost.

If your thinking "Why not?" heres why:
in case I end up with it expired and not have the money to pay straight up for it at the time, then I have to spend ages downgrading it to another version.

                      It's a staff server.

Meaning: My staff connect to it to do their stuff (work stuff)

Last time I had to teach them how to use an OS I gave up because everything I tried to explain to them they still couldn't do, but the main thing is they can do what their job is.

                          Ah yes, DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL .......

I had that during the build of my current desktop (well its 3rd upgrade and reinstall with the RAID system).

                          It was the GPX drivers.
