  • PDA/Handheld that is compatible with Mac (or has software)

I have a HTC but want to get another handheld that might be better with my mac.

    Not an iPhone please, lol.
I was wondering if anyone has experience with any sort of pda-style phone with the mac. I'd love some suggestions and some personal reviews.

All of these devices are compatible with iSync (which handles Address Book and iCal data): http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/isync/devices.html

I have experience with syncing my Address Book with my RAZR and it works fantastically... haven't tried calendar data, though.
Bugdar: PHP bug tracking software that is beautiful, fast, and robust.

I haven't looked too deep into it, but for example the Blackberry. To set it up you need to use the proprietary software that RIM issues to get it the way you want it. How to do this with the mac? I just recently learned about the iSync, but I want to be able to take advantage of alot of the other functions of a pda-style phone.

Too bad they don't have a limited demo to play with.
          That's the end of that!

Thanks Pank! I have contacted them to see if they can somehow allow me to demo it.

Hey MrNase, I contacted them and here is what they said:

You can check out a trial version of The Missing Sync
prior to purchasing, by going to our downloads page at:

                http://www.markspace.com/downloads.html

Under “The Missing Sync for BlackBerry | Available Updates”
Click on the Download version 1.0.1 link
You must be running Mac OS 10.4.8 or later

When prompted for a registration code, choose Register Later.
That will delay registration for 14 days while you try it out.

We don't offer technical support on our trial versions,
so please read the user guide after installing and back up your data first.

We recommend that you turn off your firewall and anti-virus
software whenever downloading , installing, or registering
The Missing Sync, as they may interfere with some of our processes.

And, always backup all your data before making any system
changes such as installing or upgrading software.
                Hope that helps!

                  Oh thanks!

But did I understand it correctly, that's just the BlackBerry version? I have a Sony Clie (Palm OS)
                  That's the end of that!

I believe it should be for all. You just choose not to register when asked.

I have been testing the Missing Sync application for the last few days under the trial and it is working beautifully! It seems you would only have problems with the initial setup, but syncing works very nicely. I will most-likely buy the application.
