  • Can this be?

I've been thinking lately, can the word 'proxy' be blocked on the office / school networks?

If the school and offices know how people are getting around be using proxys, can some networks block the word 'proxy' from any domain name?

So will it be wise to register a domain name what looks innocent in a way?

Not really, not all websites will completely block every proxy, or actually have the ability to do so.

    With the exception of:

    fbi.gov
    csis-scrs.gc.ca

Also, not all proxies are used in an offensive way..

I agree. I know some people who use proxies because they want to feel more safe on the net. I don't get why some schools/offices block certain sites? Well mabye porn sites on school area's, but people should be smart enough to not login to that kinda of material.

well I'd think my employees would be smart enough not to slack off.. or fire them. Same with school students, if they slack off it's their loss in the end, specially when finals come and they don't know anything, because they slacked off..

yeah I know what you mean.. it happens. but I'd just suspend their access. However, as long as they are learning or working well, I wouldn't mind. The job get's done in the end on time is what matters.

Why not. He'd be a great boss! Giving employees the room to bum around aslong as they are productive and earn it is a very good motivational tool.
