I don't have this issue... you sure you don't have something else wrong with your system?

IE7 is alright, but I prefer Firefox and Opera.

I tried IE 7 and didn't really like the speed it gave me over IE 6. So now I stick with IE 6.

I know loads of people who have had nothing but problems with IE 7 on XP.

May I ask what URL is it you experience the issue? I could see if it affects me as I'm pretty sure you said you have vista ultimate + firefox 2.0.0.3 which I also have, I could see if its the browser or your computer config.

But these no longer are options, might be due to the Windows version of FireFox.

    config.trim_on_minimize
    browser.cache.memory.capacity

    There is
    browser_cache_memory_enable
Oops, it is a bit old isn't it.

While I personally feel that Internet Explorer gives a smoother and more feature-rich web experience. That is personal opinion. I love the new interface, so my that I made Firefox behave the same way. Again personal preference.

When it comes down to it, it is all personal preference. Use what you feel is best for you. You don't need a poll because no one else's opinion matters in the long run.

If the default skin of IE7 is missing to you, you can use this: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4129

Don't feel bad, I feel much the same about that as I do about command-line options in games.

My feelings being "Stop faffing around and make a proper menu."

After having to do a presentation which included pdf files and browsing a prototype web site, I was pretty pleased with how quickly firefox was loading and how I could use saved sessions and things like that. Despite the increase of memory it sometimes requires (probably due to leaking) it still performs swell.
