  • Portals, whats the best to use?

    Hi,

I am new to all this, so I am looking for some advice.

What is the best portal to use on a VB 3.6.5 and why?

I have tried a few so far, but they all seem to have login problems (maybe its just my newbie not knowing what I am doing ways you login via the portal and it gives you the "thanks for logging in page" then it goes back to the portal and shows as not logged in... and all the other login areas on my site work fine, its always on the portals)

    Any suggestions?

    Cheers

I agree with Jake. IMO, vBAdvanced is the best - and it's free

It is personal opinion. vBAdvanced is nice and has good support and a lot of addon modules. However it is too complicated and resource heavy for my needs so I just use vBonjour.

Nope. It is just a title.

I am quite happy with standard jelsoft homepage as it provides lots of informations. For chosing a portal solution, I'd prefer a solution without database changes like vBonjour, as this way all data will still be inside vbulletin even if you change to another portal later.

Cool, cheers for the suggestions. I changed my cookie settings out of curiosity and it fixed my portal problems

                          So far I have tried:-

OSPortal - Loved the layout of it
VBonjour - Wasn't such a fan of it... seemed too bland in my opinion

Now back to using VbAdvanced and I haven't had any issues with it "yet" the support is excellent and also I brought the links tool from them which is sweet!
