Promoting your forums.

Can you guys share some advice on this?

My forums are pretty new right now, with about 10-15 members. I think it's at the stage where it can really grow and boom or go the other route and slowly fizzle off into nothing.

I feel like it's a good product. I am not sure how to get the word out on it though.

Drop like $100 on Google ads.

If you post quality content regularly, and make it something unique, people will come.

Hmm, so going the Google ads route is worth it.

If it's just $100 bucks for some decent publicity that's worth it. Even if I can bring in like 20-30 more members I would be happy, because at that point the forum will grow by itself (hopefully).

If you want to go the easy route (but takes a bit long), try thinking up a username or phrase that is a niche. Once you've done that, there's no stopping you from conquering the net.

I'm not saying its a piece of cake, but its money-free, hassle free once you get a few sites to recognize your name or phrase, or even your site's name.

Its better than you create a reputation for yourself at other communities with the identity of that site name you choose to have on google. Because, people notice your presence. Therefore, this gets the attention of google bots, or googlers.

The better your profile on other sites are searched, the more they put priorities in googling profile pages you create. You need to do the wood work, too, cleverly put your site's link in your profile, any chance you can.

Well, I picked a domain name that is easy to remember (and one that is quite..."Google-able").

I also promoted my site at other sites with relevant content...and well, that pretty much about it. I didn't really do much else, now my site gets traffic from mainly word-of-mouth and Google

And, a tip : once the traffic arrived, make sure they stay Proper management and interesting content should do it

Thanks for that. So when i go to advertise my site i should advertise it under something other sites do not offer so to attract unique customers

Well not really. Advertising it as a niche site is not point. The site actually needs to be in a niche. There is no point in advertising it as a niche site when it is not.
