Oh yea, it did. But the satisfaction is worth more than that.
I need to work hard and earn back what i spent.

I suggest using a "name" domain for a personal web site. The "name" domain is especially made for this purpose, therefore people coming to your name domain will know that it is a private individual behind the web site. This is why it is cooler to have a "name" domain for your web site: you are using the right extension for your type of web site.

I bought the "com", "net" and "name" extensions for my name but I only use the "name" extension.

If I was you I'd keep it, and use it for my own personal blog about my self.

That is not too much. Most people are not even able
to buy top level domains as their name or familyname,
unless they pay much higher prices.

Welcome in the club for personal name domain owners.

I was googling my domain name and I came to this thread which is about 8 years old. At that time I bought my own name and 6 letter domain for $300 and I always wondered if the amount I paid was too high or not. Fast forward to 8 years later, I'm happy I paid that much. If today I were to try buying it, the owner could have easily demanded $1k or more. It's worth investing into a nice short name.com if you know you will keep it forever. Just my advice.
