It's really a shame what's going on there. I'm sure that ICANN and eNom know about this for ages, now that it's pretty much too late they actually start doing something LOL
I'm having 27 domains left at RegisterFly, not sure what will happen to them, looks like right now I cannot get them out as trying to unlock them or disable that ProtectFly whois protection always fails
P.S. check http://registerflies.com/ for more informationPlanning to continue using VB 3.8 post EOL? Then join the VB 3.8 Forever group and vB3Forever.org!

I had a long read at the registerflies.com site, it's very strange some of the info on it.
I am transfering out of registerfly though just waiting for the information. Not really to do with this though because I have been meaning to move everything to namecheap so it's easier to manage.

I'm moving to GoDaddy due to their special offer

By the way, I mentioned above that I wouldn't be able to unlock domains. So just for everyone else who might be a bit lost there some updated information. It looks like RegisterFly's own Whois will always say "Status: LOCKED" no matter what. Or it takes ages to update ... I don't know. This has been very confusing to me.
Unlocking the domains actually seems to work though (at least the ones registered since RegisterFly has been ICANN accredited). www.dnsstuff.com has been quite helpful to get some fresh whois information checking whether the domains have been unlocked correctly. If it says "Domain status: ok" there the transfer should work fine.
Once you have turned off ProtectFly you will find the required auth codes at: Manage domains => Domain Contact Information => Configure
I have already transferred 2 domains successfully this way and the rest is about to follow soon.
Last but not least, only those domains that have been registered while RegisterFly was still an eNom reseller cannot be unlocked indeed. In this case contact [email protected]. They asked me to provide a copy of my photo ID, a screenshot of my RegisterFly account showing all of my domains with them, and a screenshot of my account information in my RegisterFly account. Afterwards they pushed all those domains into an eNom account even though they were locked and had ProtectFly on. All this took about 2 days I guess, so give them some time to reply.

Which doesn't mean that Namecheap is bad of course, just a matter of fact about RegisterFly ...
And I believe they used to be one the bigger ones as well.Planning to continue using VB 3.8 post EOL? Then join the VB 3.8 Forever group and vB3Forever.org!
