How old is your PC/Laptop?

I've got 2gb of RAM in here and the only time I come close to using it all is when I'm running a game, got photoshop open, have had firefox open all day and I'm trying to extract a huge archive. I fail to see the need for that much really (at this stage in time).

Well? Do you profer my other machine that I gave to my mother as I no longer needed it?

As for my computer:
Two Years old (Three now that we're in 2007)
Win XP MCE
P4 3.20 HT
2 GB RAM
ATI x600xt
200GB Seagate, 400 WD, 300 Maxtor (not plugged in since my ATA controller card is crappy).

My desktop is just about a year old now, and my laptop was purchased in August. Both still run very well though, and even faster now that they both have Linux instead of Windows.

Desktop: About 4 years

Laptop: Over 6 months.

I need to get a new desktop... I don't like it much any more, and it's slow. It will probably be the next computer to get. Haven't settled on getting a Mac (like my laptop) or going for another PC.

It's at its maximum it can take, it was made in 1998 I think. I Can't even put a bigger HDD in it because the BIO's doesn't detect it, I only got XP on it because I took my DVD RW out of this computer and put in that computer to install it after I switched them back again.

It works tho.. Just, I originally gave her windows 2000, but she didn't like the GUI and it didn't have spider solitaire so I put XP on.

I Only use about 1GB of my Random Access Memory, But, I've noticed due to I have alot of auto-start programs if I was to have a small 5GB Ram only, My computer would not load, But I've Only managed to use a maximum of 7GB of my Random Access Memory, But that was when repairing 2 HDD's and recovering Data from 2 at the same time, Also I Noticed if you open up all of the following programs at the exactly the same time you could use a hole GB of RAM (Random Access Memory)

Adobe Photoshop, Windows Live Messenger, Windows Media Player, All office applications of 2007, Nero, Quake III

Now as we all know Microsoft Things Are Resource Hogs, which is mainly what used the 1GB.

My latest addition to my computer family is a mere 3.5 hours old.

I'm very happily surrounded by lots of computers and cardboard boxes now and enjoying the newness of it.

Fingers crossed that my next one will be up and running in the next coupld of days, and if not then it will be by Saturday night anyway.
