Yes, but there is an underlaying message in their color choices as well. Both want to be your primary source for something, hence the use of primary colors in their logos. It is the same reason a lot of sites use the colors they use. Blue is seen as calming and professional. Red is fiery and passionate. This does vary among some cultures.
