haha PHP will be used to make desktop apps by then..

I hope mysql is more scalable by then..mysql is what should really be improved 10 years from now. Also IDE's for development.

Perl is not obsolete.. It was originally developed as a general purpose programming language and in that capacity it is still an awesome tool. People used it for webpages because little else was available and it was easier to use than C/C++. Still it sorted its data and outputted that to the webserver via CGI.

CGI is an interface not a language. It allows webservers to talk to other programs on the server and exchange information. Even PHP can be used within a CGI architecture.

    Thats an interesting subject.

After all look at Perl, CGI and other languages that were made obsolete to some extent by PHP popularity.

But, with CMS becoming more prevelent on the net, i wonder if PHP will become as standard as Flash or HTML?

I think vB 8 will be out by then. This would have the new mind reading option built in instead of a plug-in!

They would be releasing vSphere, a one-in-all package for running Web 2.0 communities!

Perhaps we'll see them adopt to a fully web standard 2.0 CSS based design?

    or just vB 4? lol
Well, I don't think anyone expected to see Jelsoft reach 5 years of age. We're only 4 years away from Jelsoft's decade birthday

I'd expect to see the Intuitive Auto-Reply Engine™ finally implemented.

New major version (ie. 4.x or 5.x) are not released because of bugs in a previous version.
