  • What to do with a vbulletin database? besides using it for a forum

I have a forum with about 300 posts and 100 threads... which is pretty much dead (Niche too small). I am going to uninstall vbulletin and wanted to know if there is anything I can do with the database? Can I use the database to create a mini site...if so how do I go about it or does someone have any other suggstions?

The database is unique to vB. What specifically did you want to do with it?

Don't even think to take vBulletin database and install it on your forum.

Well I would like to use my vbulletin license on another website... so I was thinking to just use the database kinda of like the "archives" and put some adsense up. Is this possible with vbulletin uninstalled? If so how would I go about it.

Not sure what you mean but you can only use your vB license on one site.

right I know you can only use it on one site..that is why I want to uninstall vbulletin and but still be able to use the database for web content. How would I extract the content from the database?

i.e my database has 86 threads... I would like to turn this into 86 html pages. How would I go about this?

You will always need software (vBulletin in this case) to retrieve information from a database and present it to visitors. This means that if you want to show your data (posts etc..) you will need to have vBulletin installed and have a valid license for it.

A database is just a storage method for the data.

so there is no way to extract the data to create just plain html pages? If I want my own html pages I will have to copy and past everything by hand?

There is no built-in option to do that. This requires custom coding. You can try asking for help with this over at www.vbulletin.org.
