I practice the 36/12 hour sleep deprivation pattern. 36 hours awake followed by 12 hours of sleep.

Do you carry a stop watch to make sure you get it perfect?

If I have to get up early the next day (around 8 AM), then about midnight. If I don't, then around 3 AM. I could stay up much later, but it'll screw me up and I'll lose proper sleep patterns for when I have to get up early.

For some reason, my body is really intolerant of a lack of sleep. If I get less than 7 hours, I get physically ill and unable to function, not just really tired.

You and me both. It simply is a matter of getting as much sleep as possible for me to function. I enjoy a good 10hours a day if possible, but with early lectures it's tough to manage except at weekends. I've found lately that if I sleep for more than 12 hours then I get a horrible headache. Oh well

I have a timer that tells me when it's time to go to bed. ±1-2 hours won't make a difference though

I don't feel too good when I sleep more than 7 hours, and I have trouble sleeping, so usually I sleep like 4 to 6 hours. I am usually awake during Canadian time-zone, but I live in the Netherlands. I try to sleep regularly but unfortunately sometimes I have to call people during daytime, like companies, this doesn't help having a pattern. Most of the time I am awake when it is dark and I sleep when it is daytime. I am pretty happy with that, just not convenient for a social live.

I've used to sleep on two periods for the last 6 months; one from 4am to 8am, second from 3pm to 5pm. I know that's unhealthy, but I was unable to sleep early, and my days were engaged.

But now, I sleep only one period; from 3am to 8am. I've to wake up early to travel to my college which is located about 50km from my home.

But if I'm free all the day, I may sleep for more than 10 hours, and wake up so hardly.

It depends of my job. Sometimes, I must to wake up at 5am (for go to job for 6am), and 12am-1am for bed. Hours are GMT +1.

3-4am is sleepytime, and I wake around 1pm. Coding is so much easier at night
