Holiday Season for the game console industry depends on you?!

It is time my friends to bug mommy and daddy and nag them for a game console. That is, if you're a 15 year old games that cleans up his room to suck up for a $500+ valued system, with or without the games. Or perhaps you have to convince your partner to not go on a holiday this year because you need to play zelda on the wii. Or you have to work overtime and convince your boss to pay out double .. because the ps3 is just so damn expensive.

HD content, HD games, wireless controllers, high quality graphics and great performance. And .. these consoles keep you warm in the winter too!

Set aside $5000 for a HD tv to get the most out of it, probably some extra money for online memberships. Or just for future games that cost around $50 a pop, or just other addons. Or hell, even the extra peak in the electricity bill next year.

Reglardless of all that, you have money to spend .. on what?

Let's see how vbulletin fans like to spend their free time when they're done posting on forums and managing or upgrading their sites.

And what I am really interested in is your personal experience. got an xbox360 or wii or ps2 etc .. and feel it is a waste of money, or the best thing ever? Let me know! Reviews are nice, but .. I'd like to hear from you.

I would like to buy an X-Box 360 and a Wii. I won't buy both at the same time, but I'm sure I'll get both eventually. PS3 isn't on my radar.

First choice is an xb360 though, I've heard nothing but good things coming from people who already have it.

Have a Gamecube that's almost never used and a modded Xbox (1). No interest in the Xbox 360, at least until maybe Halo 3. I was really looking forward to the PS3 until it turned into the overpriced crap it is now. Likewise, I had no interest in the Wii until recently, but there's no killer games for it that I want yet.

Already have a PC. A new one in a year or two will be about $1500 to $2000 (yes, even when custom-built) for what I want: 2 to 4 GB of RAM, Core 2 Duo, RAID hard drives (already have 10,000 RPM 36 GB drives I can use), and a video card worth about $400 at the time.

I'm praying the Mac Pro eventually gets reduced to a reasonable price once I configure it to my needs, because I'm so tired of Windows. It's not good when Linux is proving to be a less stressful experience than XP or Vista.

edit: also won't have much interest in any console that supports a hard drive until it can be modded so games load off the hard drive. That is the single coolest thing of having an Xbox that has an Xecuter in it: I just turn it on, select a game on a whim, and it starts...and loads twice as fast.

I own an Xbox 360 and don't want to get another. Neither the Wii or the PS3 appeal to me at all.
