Well, I finally had to turn on the admin activation feature on both boards. I'll leave it on for a week and then switch it off.

This spammer is a complete headcase.

You purchase a license for the site. Then download the .zip, then unpack it and prepare the config file and upload the files. You run install.php from the browser and when done install impex on top of it. Then run the phpbb import script and the phpbb data goes into vbulletin.
Then you remove impex, and you're done.

For a normal upgrade from vbulletin 3.5 to 3.6 you just upload the 3.6 files and run the upgrade.php

How easy is it to install the upgrade? Is it just one file? I had a friend install the board for me originally.

I might have to do that.

Can a bot read the phpBB graphic that people are required to type in at registration? Could this persistent idiot be a bot?

These guys use proxies from all over the globe. Sometimes it's a number from Holland, other times from France, or the USA, and sometimes Russia. I have lost track.

    Just the two.

The twit is back on my phpBB board using the same name as on the vB.

    Gotta go ban and delete.

Spammers are just bots usually, even if they appear human. Just keep banning them.

    The other is a phpbb.

His IP may be changing because it's not static. Lots of people have dynamic IPs.
