  • BlazeBoard/MyCool - Cheating Little <people>?

Well, after seeing that MR Johnathon is redeveloping BlazeBoard to a hosted solution called MyCool, I popped over to bbhacks.com

The administrator was giving out the address of this site: http://openbb.net which is gonna be the new name, openBB.

Is it just me or does that site look VERY familiar?

I was about to reply to a thread about this before - but the thread disapeared - anyone know why ?

The layout looks familiar for the openbb.net index page - but for the forums - is there anyone who hasn't copied the basic layout of UBB ?

Jonathan (the origional creator of BlazeBoard) and MyCool are not at all involved with OpenBB.

the design looks the same but does that mean they ripped the code?

I mean, if i would rip vbulletin i would be so smart to atleast change the graphics etc

                Well, its a disgrace.

                News Just In:

                Dear beta\'s,

we are only running like for 22 hours now and already made every headline because of our layout
wich is smilar to vB\'s and uses some of their old graphics.
Well, someone came who attempted different hack attempts before on blazeboard server came up
with the idea to tell everybody that we actually stole the vB code.
Obviously this isn\'t true, OpenBB uses his own opensource codebase wich is not-at-all based
                on vBulletin.
We are currently changing some templates in order to de-look like vB1.x/2.xbeta. If there is
someone here with great design skills who would like to help out, [email protected]
                Thank you,
                Iansoft

its not just the design, they appear to have the same db structure, seeing how vB is unique in that it has threadid and postid and forumid in the url and openBB has the same as that. It just seems ironic to me that they have similar structure AND layout, and that in the Admin forums (I have my ways) at bbhacks.com, someone was talking about how they had a vB 2.0.0.

i'am gonna sign up as beta tester too
so you get the script? the db dump etc? then you could see if it is vB or not hé?

If its not vB, then sorry for causing them all this trouble, but it looks awful suspicious.....Oh well, I'll let you vB people deal with it.
