  • How to transfer files from webhost to webhost?

    Sorry i don't know is it in the right section...
    but i just post here for all to exchange ideas

    as u all know vbulletin sql files is very big
    is there a way or command to allow me from my new webhost to download
    the sql files from my old webhost?

    Any ideas or suggestion, beside asking me to download to my computer
    as my download speed is 190kb/s still ok
    but my upload is max 20kb/s =.=
    if ask me to upload a 700++ MB sql db up.. will take hell lots of time =X

      Just found out my old webhost doesn't support telnet or ssh !!!

      is there any other ways?

        If your new host supports it, you can FTP into the old server, but other than that, no.

            Hmmm... you could try to use mysqldumper to back up the database, this allows you to send the file to the new server automatically per FTP.

              i'm using mysqldumper but i got to download the 700+MB sql db to my computer.. and upload to the new server in order for mysqldumper to work =.="

                It also allows you to transfer the backup file to an FTP server.

                      Well, without a error-message it's hard to guess.
                      What does the logfile of MySQLDumper tell you?

                      As a test you can do a backup of one table and look if the ftp-transfer is working then.
