    Well there's more than one bsd based OS - FreeBSD has the best support for the desktop out of them - I think Gnome is supporting FreeBSD now.

    But really linux would be better for your OS as there is so much more software around for linux.

    you can set XP to use the 'classic' GUI. Then it looks just like 2000 but with smoother icons.

    You just have to search around for business with both Macs and PCs where their tech guys don't know anything about Macs. There's lots of them around where I live.
