now that I have used XP a little more I must say that I'm impressed with it. It's going to make a great consumer OS.

        What does XP stand for?

I do agree with the comments that it is very mac like

I have to say the biggest everyday difference I have seen is that is just handles better.

It is like getting a new sports car that has its suspension wound up very tight - just seems to flow from window to window

(of course it helps when you have a ton of ram also )

And I have no idea what XP stands for, have not looked

                    Mac chick!

You just have to search around for business with both Macs and PCs where their tech guys don't know anything about Macs. There's lots of them around where I live.

you can set XP to use the 'classic' GUI. Then it looks just like 2000 but with smoother icons.

I keep up with all the rumors and stuff for Macs. Supposedly Apple is currently Cocoa-izing and multithreading many of the core Finder funcitons right now. OS X updates are expected by late July to address many performance issues.

What's the best flavor of Linux? What about BSD? Is that worth running? I hear it's good.
You need to check your rumor mills more often.. Mac OS X is based on FreeBSD and uses the same kernal as FreeBSD.

You asked about BSD and if it was good and yet you are essentially running it under that fancy GUI of yours.
