  • Weird IE Problem

When I open up Internet Explore and it loads my homepage which is google.com and when I try to type something in the address bar it lets me but when I press enter it does nothing. It shows the animation icon like its loading but it just does nothing. Does anyone know how to fix this or what might be causing this?

You might want to update your version of IE. There is a bug in one (perhaps several) of the releases of that browser which causes the enter button to fail on pages which only have one text box.

Or better yet, switch to Fire Fox.

Cool. In that case update your version of IE. Unless you are running the latest version, in which case there is a work around (adding a hidden field from memory) but that requires you to be a coder on the site you are trying to access.

            Try here.

I run a Mac, so I would guess you want the service pack one for version 6. But don't quote me on that.

You got around it by uninstalling a firewall. Well I dont have a firewall and its still doing the same thing. Ill just wait for the next security update because microsoft should fix it.

What about the default windows firewall?

Hmm, good and not good. Good that it is fixed, but not good in that it could go bang again and you will just have to wait until it rights itself again.

Oh, well. At least it is working for you.
