  • What is RTMP?

I have 123 Flash Chat (Demo Version)... anyone have it? What is RTMP? I edited the standard.xml file on the server configuration folder (/123flashchat/Server/Etc/Group/Standard/standard.xml) and I don't know what I should be filling out for RTMP. It's for the Audio/Video Publishing. What is RTMP anyway?

(Need me to put the full XML file here?)

I suggest you ask this at the Flashchat support website.

It stands for Real-Time Messaging Protocol, a proprietary system used by Macromedia's products (namely, Flash) to strem multimedia content.

How can I host it? Or do I need professional hosting from a remote service?

And they don't offer support to trial users? Well if you need to go to another company for support on teh product, i would call the trial a failure.

Blegh, they only have a 30-day trial for developers.

You can probably host it, granted that you own Macromedia's application server products.

Well, i'll stick with finding one and probably buying professional hosting... if there is. I mean, there is the part where you can turn on A/V Chat on the Default.xml file

I'm using 123flashchat, fully paid with the A/V module.

You can not just turn it on in the settings, you need the additional files.

the rmtp part is where it connects to a flashcom server, see influxis.com for that, or buy a flash license from macromedia for $1000 and install it on your dedicated server.

FYI - support is HORRIBLE at 123flashchat, do NOT expect them to help you. It took me weeks to get mine working properly, after I paid them almost $1000 for the software I wanted.
