  • Planes 'seen in close encounter'

I'd hate to be in that Japan Airlines 777..but it brings up a question though...is the picture real or was it photoshop? Any photoshop experts here that can tell??

Could very well be real, and just deceptive, but this struck me as a little odd.

It looks photoshop made, but then that is what they said about lunar landing?
The shadowing look like the plane is banking too the left? If I were the pilot I would not do that? If any one know how to measure shadows, but you need to know where this picture was taken from and time of day to see if those planes were in same air space? They do say the planes are equip with sensors to aviod getting that close and the tower would of known this as well?

Even if the picture was photoshopped, I've never known the BBC report on false stories.

It does look very strange, however, you can just tell how deceptive the angles are, because simply by looking at that picture, if it's as clear-cut as that, they would have crashed One must be a lot higher than the other and the cameraman got a good shot

The blue line hints that it was possibly a cut and paste.

                  this whole story is BS.

If you've ever stared at airplanes on approach, you see things like this constantly. In reality they are probably atleast 1/4 mile apart ... it's just a visual trick

The picture is probably real and the planes are probably farther apart then they appear. Even with the naked eye it would have looked like they were going to crash. There is no point of reference to judge the distance betweeen the planes. Looking at a clear blue sky sort of takes a dimension out of what we see. It's kind of like driving I-80 through Nebraska at night. You see headlights from vehicles that look to be only a block or 2 away. Then the car passes you 15 minutes later. With no point of reference you lose your depth perception.
If you look at the picture you see a shadow of the lower planes engine on the fuselage. If the planes were as close as it looks you would see a shadow from the upper plane across the cockpit of the lower one.

I thought only one picture was taken?

Does a photograph show two airliners in dangerously close proximity?

He has made several pictures as he noticed it was appearing to be a crash.

Why do people always want to take pictures instead of call the police or something like that?

If they were really that close together I doubt he'd have enough time to actually call the police, reach airlines, contact both planes, and tell them something bad's about to happen. So instead, he'll take pictures to share with the family
