I like KDE. I configured SuSE to boot into KDE mode, even though it supports both GUIs.

You can change the look of both KDE and GNome, so I wouldn't really gage it on whether its visually appealing, but instead vote for functionality. My vote would be for KDE, but I have not used a GUI for at least a year, so I won't vote.

I like Gnome, it's more consistent and desciplined in accessability. But KDE is more powerful and configurable.

Out of the 2 - KDE.

But I use XFCE4 because I love it - and because Gnome and KDE are too bloated.

I think fluxbox is better than both.

I've only ever used Fluxbox and KDE.

And. well. Fluxbox wins. It's just fun.

I prefer KDE. Gnomes a little too dull for me. I like KDE 3.4.3.

KDE, much more functionallity, I love how I can tweak every little thing to be just like I want it.

Linux stuff... Wouldn't worry about it too much. They are still a few years behind Windows and Macintosh in my opinion. KDE is closer out of the two. Of course someone will come in with all this mumbo jumbo now on how they are both better but I personally don't think so. They are just a step above a command-line interface and have a lot of rough edges in their default styles.
