    Same here. I usually buy when I have a quarter tank or so left.

    Honestly, how many people here filled their tank when they heard about rising gasoline prices? An old lady on my block was advising my whole neighborhood to go and buy NOW. Give in to the fear.

    We have a guy here that does shows on radio and TV and he is a consu,er advocate. He has done lots of research on this gas situation. He says basically there is and never had been and won't be a gas shortage. The oil companys have billions of barrels of oil in reserve. They can refine the oild now but they don't want to. Basically over the past several months, the oil companys cut back their prdoction by many thousands of barrels a day. They then imported that same amount o barrels a day and put those in reserve. So basically this is just an easy way for them to SC&#W us and we like dummies gladly let them. There is no oil shortage.

    Also the stations are only supposed to change the prices to reflect when they get a new shipment of fuel. According to the gas stations, they all must have gotten shipments of fuel the same day because 90% of the stations raised their prices Wednesday. We still have a few stations here in north Denver selling at 2.77 a gallon with long lines.

    Markets operate not on reality but on the perception of reality.

    Posit:
    People perceive an oil shortage and think gas prices will go up.

    Consequence:
    Demand increases. People start buying lots of gas.

    Result:
    Prices go up.

    Sneakers. Good movie.

    They have been in excess of £0.90/litre for a while now here.

    But my friend told me that Bush found some other source of oil or something elswhere and is preparing to start having it shipped to the US? Is this true?

    If the gas prices keep going up, I'm going to have to stop driving and get a dorm at college.

    Here in my area of Nova Scotia gas prices are up to $1.20/litre. That's about $5/U.S. gallon.

    Be happy you don't live in Atlanta or similar places. When gas stations ran out of gas the ones that had it hiked their prices up above $5 for regular.

    It wen't up .30 cents here the night before last, I have not been out of the house today but I can only imagine it shot up again (my source told me 12.cents+ last night )

    Went up .39 cents over night here.

    Sorry member posted this joke on my site and I had to share.... to bring some humor to this tragedy...

    A lot of folks can't understand
    how we came to have
    an oil shortage here in America.
    ~~~
    Well, there's a very simple answer.
    ~~~
    Nobody bothered to check the oil.
    ~~~
    We just didn't know we were getting low.
    ~~~
    The reason for that is purely geographical.
    ~~~
    Our OIL is located in
    ~~~
    Alaska
    ~~~
    California
    ~~~
    Oklahoma
    and
    TEXAS
    ~~~
    ~~~
    Our
    DIPSTICKS
    are located in
    Washington DC
