Can we see your integration and discussion please? Have you released the code for this?

            Oopps.

Just read through your documentation, looks fantastic, I'm sure you are very proud.

Would obviously require me to upgrade to Vb3.

Hi, in the past we have used Mambo, vBAdvanced and MKPortal, but since splashing out for vBPortal we have not looked back.
Mambo was too powerful and overbearing and had far too many features for our purposes.
MKPortal looked sexy, had great support but was terribly flaky (when we used it, might be better now)
vBAdvanced was almost ideal, though a mite underpowered.

We needed something then, between vBAdvanced and Mambo and came up with vBPortal........ perfect!.... Job done!

im currently using Joomla / Mambo
Have integrated Vbulletin 3.5 and Joomla to share the same database
was using vbadvanced at one time...

Joomla is definatly the best out there

you should put vBPortal Own and dont add it with vBA

vBPortal is good in some way but to be honest with you they are control Freak i have removed it after i buy it one week

                      i hope VBCMS release soon

I use Mambo very much and I love it! It's so easy to use for everyone! And fast! Loads of free skins for it, and easy to skin.

I did some searches and check out what he said -- just over half of everything he's mentioned is either completely false, or has fatal interpretation errors (vBulletin costs $160 + $60/year? "forums work sufficient for developers using them"?). Once again, I'm going to reiterate that OSS is for users. Not developers. Just because a developer doesn't use such and such a feature doesn't mean it shouldn't be included. That's just plain stupid.
To be fair, this post wasn't all right either (and it's showing bad form -- we don't like the IPB crappers crapping here, why do the same bad behavior on other's turfs? It reflects badly on vB, as it's not a testimonial, it's bragging to another developer on their own grounds and rubbing their nose with vB. I love vB, but we have our own cheerleading areas on the web, and there's better ways to convince others of it's benefits)...

Even vB developers will attest they can and do get sidelined for any number of reasons (remember the bug found just a couple months ago, and they had to quickly fix it? To do that, everything had to go on hold and they had to go back and track the problem down, fix, test and release).

They've welcome more aboard this year and currently 2 in one month, apparently because the work load is increasing as well.

vB staff does a lot of good things, but they're human not gods.

I've tried mosts mentioned in the Poll. I'd go with vBadvanced.

what I would like to see is vBulletin not so much create a portal add-on, but maybe bring out a new vB product that's a forum/portal all in one package to run alonside there forum only package.

                              Sounds okay.

I don't like the portals too much as they tend to use too many queries (last time I installed vBAdvanced, it took 22 alone on the frontpage). Way too many db calls -- and that's the front page and the first to load for your site.

If vB makes one, I sure hope it's lighter (like half vBAdvanced queries). Then it'll be perfect and load fast.

The number of queries with any portal is dependent upon what types of modules you're displaying.
