Personally, I'd like to have Gold before August 6th if possible. That is when my members' area download access expires. If Gold is out by then, I could hold on to my $30 for a while and collect the interest.

Just to let you know that the release of RC1 will not be happening this weekend - we want to allow the code to run on vB.com over the weekend to iron out any bugs before we do a release next week.

Does this mean, the way things are going, there will be RC1 release, and if that goes well, next release after that will be Gold?

i was looking at awaiting feedback
those are there for them to look at later
there was a bunch and just the rate of bugs more than the amount was my thinking
also remember, since its unstable it has had very little real world usage
if they release a gamma and tell people this ones stable installations will rise drastically which should make the release candidates actuall release candidates and not beta

Release candidate means this shouldnt contain many bugs and may wind up being rebranded without any changes to GOLD. It's not a beta unless jelsoft has a different definition. That's why it's called release candidate

the original title of this thread was gamma
then i got a couple of subscription emails and saw i was subscribed to one titled RC1
one email said gamma

when I clicked the links i got invalid thread specified and could no longer find my thread

now it appears again? wth?

am i on candid camera or something?

Now to wait till Monday night or Tuesday afternoon to get my hands on it. I'm so glad that it isn't being released over the weekend coz I'd most likely be extremely late getting my hands on it. Mind you, I only got my hands on beta 4 on Weds and completely missed beta's 1-3 so I don't suppose it would matter too much anyway.

Can we have Gold before the end of August please guys? I promised my co-admins I'd upgrade to a proper 3.0.7 before then instead of running a patched 3.0.6 but I might as well try and hold off for 3.5.0 Gold instead.
