I just sold my first photo to a local newspaper.
I'm not allowed to embed it (the usage is heavily restricted) so here's the link to my flickr.com account: http://flickr.com/photos/mrnase/2705782353/That's the end of that!

Nice.
I had to deliver my 1D MK III in for service today because of error 99. Damn stupid time. Day before I have to shoot motorsport and 3 weeks before I goto africa.
But since I am CPS member I got a loaner camera for the weekend so I was out today to take a few photos to make sure I had everything setup before the weekend.

Today I've been to a classic car show too.
Not a good experience… I got injured because a historic race car broke through a hay bale (the race track's boundary) at high speed and I was standing behind this hay bale. I was very lucky, at the first they suspected a severe injury of my backbone and they took me into hospital but I only twisted my knee.
Every single part of my body hurts like hell but the woman standing next to me was badly injured.
I was truly in luck.

One photo from where I stood:
Those cars got the yellow flag and they slowed down before the turn:
I read their statement to the press and they said we were told several times to leave because it wasn't save to stand there but that's just not true.
Here's a Youtube video of the accident: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxYJuG6k1DYLast edited by MrNase; Mon 4 Aug '08, 6:51am.That's the end of that!

Looks like that camera man distracted the driver by standing on the corner - I would be livid!
Hope you get well soon - there's no way I'd stand at the end of a straight as I'd be worried about stuff like this.

I see all these great pictures being posted, and there are some good ones. But lets be honest and throw a bit of controversy into this. It's not that hard these days to take a "good picture" with the technology that cameras now have to make everything automated.
The days of having to use a manual SLR camera, and do all the shutter speed and other settings yourself are well gone. Now it's just click and there you go - great picture taken! Even my grandma if she was alive today could take a great picture with todays camera's!
It's not a case of taking a great picture anymore, but capturing a great moment, thats the skill.

I just ordered the EOS Rebel XSi (EOS 450D) to replace my EOS Rebel XTi (EOS 400D).
There's not a huge difference between those two but Canon changed some little things that I always hated (self-timer, viewfinder, battery pack).
I'm not too sure about the new image processor (DIGIC III) but time will tell. That's the end of that!
