  • You could see if any of these ship there.. http://www.camerapricebuster.co.uk/prod83.html

But they may be more expensive being UK shops!

    • Thanks, I'll take a look at the offers even though it's not that cheap in the UK.
      That's the end of that!

      • Had to share a bit of useful information about shooting in RAW. The roommate's new girlfriend works in a portrait studio. Upon her finding out that I'm an enthusiast, we had a short conversation about photography. She asked me if I shoot in RAW. I told her it depends on the situation (WB and/or exposure) or if I know I'll be printing the images.

"I love shooting in RAW. Having the ability to fix your focus is so helpful" she said.

And no, our conversation wasn't on April 1st. Scary.

        • Didn't you know?! Shooting in RAW means you shoot without ANY adjustments and you have to do it all yourself.

I heard about RAW 2.0 beta where you have a white canvas and you must paint the scene yourself too.
          That's the end of that!

              • Got myself a D300

Used a 100 off voucher at currys (AWOFF100 if you take the basket over 1000). Got a free copy of CaptureNX as well (which I might sell).

Here are the first few pics I've taken with it:

All with a 18-55. Can only take 3 lo-fi jpegs at a time at present as my 4GB compact flash card hasn't arrived yet (using a 16mb one from my old p&s!) hope it comes tomorrow tho

                  • Yetserday I was out shooting motorsport. It was the first time I had full media access to the track so I could go anywhere and avoid all annoying fences. It was an event arranged by a danish motorsports photographer in association with Canon Denmark. I think I did pretty well with my panning shots. All these where shot with my 1D MK III + 100-400 IS L.

                    • Shot in RAW, edited with Adobe Lightroom and saved with Adobe Photoshop. I'll send it out to get it printed as a poster on Monday.

Was it really that cloudy, or did you add anything, MrNase?

                        • I tweaked the curves a bit with Adobe Lightroom but I didn't use Photoshop to edit or add any objects.

The sky was very bright at that day and I guess Lightroom enhanced the contrast.

                            • Nice one mrNase - would suit a poster for sure!

Fantastic shots Tommy - you did a great job! I was just saying on YoP that these shots lend themselves very well to an increase in saturation on the main subject - it creates that 'pop' factor, most useful if you are selling the end product to a client.

Here's an example: Moto X - on YoPhotographer see post 3 for my edit.
