OUCH...yea...it's best to get the DVI-D ones.

      DVI-I are second best.

I cannot afford to upgrade my Graphics card, so I am stuck with DVI-I

So I need to find a monitor that supports DVI-I

Hold that thought...it just dawned on me since the DVI-I is integrated, shouldn't it be able to transmit both digital and analog signals? If you just take the digitial signals uding DVI-D, in theory it could work.....

          *goes to check*

Edit: Hunch was correct, DVI-I is a hybrid port. It sends both Analog and Digital signals.

It can support both DVI-D and DVI-A. But the port only supports one format type, meaning DVI-D to DVI-D and DVI-A to DVI-A, but not DVI-D to DVI-A or DVI-A to DVI-D

So look for a DVI-D monitor I still recommend those Planars...
