Possible. BBS's were around LONG before forums and the WWW. I used to run Wildcat BBS back in the 80's on an old Leading Edge 286.

Looks like an old UBB-based board.

The "last message" column on the message board main page just lists the time of the last post in that subforum; not the poster or the thread title.

Don't know enough about it to pass judgement, though.

The slogan sounds like a vB slam, since vB is an "instant community." And what is the diff. between a BBS and a forum?

              There isn't.

BBS is just bulletin board system, and forum is a forum .

The old BBSs that were around 20 years ago were pretty primative. But dang, they were fun. ASCII art, chat rooms (yes, we had chat rooms way back then), and the origins of the pron industry. You dialed into them via modem (I think 300 baud was the standard when I first started) and downloads took FOREVER. Best graphics you got was colored ASCII art.

Coming soon, the culmination of two decades BBS experience.
Looks like they're still stuck two decades in the past. And somebody didn't take grammar lessons in school.

Heh. Those were the days, huh?

Here's a blast from the past... ASCII art at it's finest.

Open a terminal (or command prompt) and type:

                        telnet towel.blinkenlights.nl

(once connected, just sit back and enjoy the show, no further input needed)

If it is or isn't, they are correct; you can't have a community have instant success.

That sure brings back a rush of memories. Amazing what can be done with ascii characters. I think I like Windows Media Player a lot better.

                            Thanks for sharing.
