List of ALL known BBS?

Just curious, could everyone one list all the free BBS out there they know of? I know a few, but I can't remember the addresses, its for a freind, he can't afford a vB licence (I tried to convince him) so I wanna help him with a free one?

I don't think that UB do free boards anymore, it stopped after v1.62 i believe. Besides their new board UB3 is going to cost at a packet and their customer base has left them nearlly entirely. I wouldn't go for them right now or ever. There new boards are nothing much on the old ones and the hacks are all old hat now.

My advice is to steer clear from UB2K.com

UB does too have a free version... and also a paid version...

UltraBoard 2000 Personal Edition - v 2.11
Its a limited version of their Standard Edition.

They're trying to be like vBulletin with their UB3 that's coming out... PHP and mySQL... Professional Edition - free upgrade to those that had a license before the release -- others will have to pay for it if they don't have a license afterwards.

I accept it when i am wrong and my facts may not be exact but i would still give the advice to steer clear.
I know a sinking ship when i see one and it's name is SS UB (Titanic).

I have used their so called free edition and to be honest it has as much options as access boards and they are, well i don't think i need to comment on that board compared to the likes of yabb, Ikonboard e.t.c.

UB is one of the worse products around.
Ikonboard/Blazeboard/phpBB are the only 2 decent free boards.
Tell him to wait for version 3 of ikonboard, its much better looking.

He can also goto www.hotscripts.com and check what ones are listed there.

I've seen a couple that aren't listed here that he could checkout.

If he is planning to use a free one, have him email the programmer and make sure they are able to fix problems he finds.

UB's really bad. Not that the software itself is bad, the support is bad. When I asked for some support, people on board turned on me and saying "You should be thanksful that you can get a little support so even if you don't get answer, be happy."
And jacky,the creator, never replies support e-mail. He also almost never visit his own board. UB support is completely being ran by users and there are only 2 or 3 decent users and.. they don't visit the board much anymore.
