okie good! my graphics card only works correctly on AGP 4x.. which is very odd since it is an AGP 8x card in an AGP 8x slot....

I only have an 8x APG card and I noticed about 100fps difference on some of the large graphics applictions I run, but you still need the RAM and the CPU to keep up.

is 1 Gig enough? (2 x 512MB) :P (and yes I know its fine) I just thought it was kinda odd that and AGP 8x GFX card in an AGP 8x port would work horribly on AGP 8x but just fine in 4x.... i will see if there are any more drivers I can update...

When I hadded my 8x AGP I added another half of gig of ram and bumped my processer from 2.0 to 2.5ghz.

its an AMD Athlon 64 3000+ at 2.0GHz! a ton better than any P4 3.2GHz! I have used a P43.2 before too.... not any faster in fact it was slower!

The 100fps increase came from the memory and the processor. Upgrading from 4x to 8x AGP would give you a few fps tops. Nothing near 10 or even 100 increase.

one of my friends at school said it might be just overheating... could it? I tried opening up my case and turning my fan on to blow inside it but it didnt help... is there a better way to test to see if it is overheating?

in catalyst 5.5 control center it says the card is running at an average of 30 degrees C while not playing any games... idk what it is during any games tho....
