I wanted the name 'The Chiller' but after a Google search I found that it has been used already. I bet every cool name has been registered already

Do I just keep thinking up site names until I find one that hasn't been used yet?

I thought so... Can I change my site's name later on and get vBulletin to recognize it (without affecting member's posts etc) ? Can I use vBulletin for more than one site or do I have to buy another license each time?

You can change your site's name later without affecting your posts. The content of your posts may not match the new topic of your site but you'll still have them. However you can only have one set of vBulletin files installed and in use publically at any one time.

Well, it kinda is, but there more to it than that.

If you haven't used the internet much, you won't know the kind of things internet dwellers like to see in a site/forum.

But of course, the best way to learn is by trying yourself

              Cool.

I've come up with a name that isn't registered. I want my members to be able to post adult material so I presume I will have to get a pr0n web host. Do I do that first before I download vBulletin 3 (it's asking for a php file extension too)?

You don't specificly need an adult web host, but you need one that will allow legal adult content.

You do not need a webhost first, but you will need a webhost before you can let your users have at the forum.

                  OK,

Thanks for the quick response! So how can I find a main stream web host that will allow adult content?

Also, what PHP file extension should I choose on the vBulletin Download page?

                    .php is a good bet.

Try webhostingtalk.com or try finding a host that you like and see if they will allow it.

(I deserve a prize for making a prat of myself online )
Well.. the 2nd address on my sigg... was purchased b4 choosing a host/domain.

it was left empty until the day of installation which is like a week to 2 later then was input, download and install....
