  • Hmmm just tried to buy Vbulletin3...

...and it was priced at around £43 (leased).

Then another option came up asking if I wanted Branded Free or Professional Option for around £61 to £69.

The next option stated that the price of vBulletin would be added to the price of Brand Free/ Professional

So having no branding costs £104 and £42 without?

Can I upgrade and remove branding later on without affecting the posts made by members?

    This would be considered Branding:

    Powered by: vBulletin Version 3.0.7

It's completely optional to buy branding removal

I suppose you can purchase branding removal after you have purchased and installed the board. It requires no file modding; just one template and/or phrase change.

That's correct. You will need to use a regular email address if you want to pay with a credit card.

I'm a little confused Do I have to buy an email account in order to use my credit card to purchase vBulletin3?

I tried to order it with my card earlier but noticed the free hotmail thing afterwards.

I presume my order is going to be rejected then...

Use paypal. It gets around the limitation of free email addresses

Well I don't know much about the internet. By ISP I presume you mean my internet service provider. Yeah, I have a broadband subscription and I just gave my regular email address when I filled in my personal details (when ordering). I'm using hotmail and I don't pay for my email account

I got emails from Jelsoft Enterprises after placing the order with my password etc. Am I missing something here or will I just recieve vBulletin 3? Does it come on cd or something?

Ahh, so do I have to wait for the other order to be rejected and then order again with PayPal?

No offense meant by this post, but:

Is it wise paying for a profesional bulletin board if you don't know much about the internet?

Well I thought it was just a case of buying vBulletin and choosing a web host..then learning how to use the vbulletin admin control panel.

I have a invisonfree board but I want my own now.

If you received an email with a password from Jelsoft in it then it will contain your customer number, password and a link to the vBulletin member's area. You need the customer number and password to access the member's area and from there you can download vBulletin.

                            Thanks,

I've had a few beers with my m8's so I'm a bit baffed on the next bit When I login to the member's area it asks of a URL of where my forums are installed. I presume the URL is the web address for my 'intended' site. I haven't chosen a web host yet. What do I do here?

Have you registered a domain name? If so, I would enter that.
