Has anyone seen a site where vBulletin forums were linked to from another page on the same site?

Can you show me the site?

I am just trying to see if it is a route I want to go.

No idea what you mean, but you can set a forum to behave as a forum, sub-forum, category and link. The latter is probably what you mean. You can just enter any http://www.xxx url in the link input field when you add a new forum. It will then behave as a link instead of as a forum.

Floris, I actually mean just the opposite...let's say I have a site that has pages other than the forum and I want to link to a specific forum from another page. Let's say my site is about snow sports and the home page has an article about snowboarding--how is the best way to link that article to my forum about snowboarding?

<a href="forumdir/showthread.php?f=x">article ...</a> replace the x with the showthread id.

If you use a content management server, it will automaticly create those links (if it integrates with vbulletin)

Uhh... Floris, you gave a showthread link, but used "f=". I'm not sure what you wanted there.

If you want to link to a snowboarding forum, the URL would be forumdisplay.php?f=123 (replacing 123 with the correct forum ID).

What Floris was referring to with the CMS bit was a script that actually does something slightly different -- it runs your frontpage off the vB database, so you post an article in vB and it shows on your frontpage. Check into something like vBAdvanced.

Though I think what you want is just a standard HTML link on one of your other pages. That you'll basically have to do manually.

Thank you very much Mike. I am not completely lazy I was just hoping that there might be a way to automate the HTML link.
