  • Correct .HTACCESS ?

I'm trying to see if this would work for .htaccess by listing two urls and seeing if it would trigger this html page.. any ideas if it will?

    Code:
    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$

    etc etc etc..

    RewriteRule \.(gif|jpg|zip|exe|png|bmp|txt|doc|xml|pdf|mov|mp3|wmv|jar|php)$ http://www.worldsims.org/ [R,L,NC]
    RewriteRule \.(gif|jpg|zip|exe|png|bmp|txt|doc|xml|pdf|mov|mp3|wmv|jar|php)$ http://www.worldsims.org/matrix.html [R,L,NC]

Are you trying to redirect all traffic from one directory?

    If so, try this:
    Code:
    RewriteRule ^/.*$ http://www.worldsims.org/matrix.html [R]
Sorry, that might not work... I'm a little rusty with mod_rewrite.

I'm hoping I can find a way to inject HTML from matrix.html into the website that hot links files, particular images.. I thought doing a mod-rewrite might do the trick.

Oh I see.. this might do the trick...
        Code:
        RewriteEngine On

        RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$
        RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !worldsims\.org [NC]

        RewriteRule (.*) http://www.worldsims.org/matrix.html [R]
That should prevent hotlinking altogether... If you want it only for a specific web site, modify yhr second RewriteCond

Does that inject HTML into the website that's hot linking?

Is it even posible to 'inject' HTML into an image file?

                No, it shouldnt be.

That would be dangerous and definatly not permitted.

You can replace the image with another one, though.

How about an image with a SWF document?

and besides merk, they expose themselves to danger only by hotlinking :P

                  No Hotlinking == No Danger.

No, an image code is for images, not swf. Replace it with another image.

Not only is what you're suggesting dangerous, it is horribly stupid.

If someone found a way to do that and lived next door...........
