They're based in the UK, but the developers are scattered worldwide. Mostly UK and America I think.

One more thing. Do the developers and such go to a place to work, or are they payed via a different method?

I don't think Jelsoft has any offices.

Thats good. It stresses employes a lot less if they don't have an offical, "office," to go to

one thing I have been wondering for a while, why is it that Jelsoft only take payment in $ if they are based in the uk you would think that they would be able to take £ as well

We take payment in GBP, Euro and US Dollars. The Dollar however is considered more and more as a worldwide acceptable currency which is why it is the default.
