I have noticed a decline in Google's search credibility as well. I used to be a HARDCORE Google-only fan, but now I find myself using AllTheWeb.com more

They may ride high for a while after their IPO but once they start losing more partners they won't have anything to make a profit on. I would be surprised if they make a profit without Yahoo's millions lining their coffers. Also Microsoft has already set their sites on competing directly with Google.
It is already the beginning of the end for Google. Microsoft is moving into the search engine bussiness and their superior products will eventually leave Google out of bussiness.

I must say that alltheweb is my second best

I would never use any mail service for serious or private content anyway if i dont control it myself.

And froogle is indeed disappointing in the results, but what i want is always on the first or second page.

Browsing sites I am already used to ignore banners, popups and other advertisement. It just doesn't do it for me. I never click on it myself by default. People who pay to get listed on the top or the side; fine. stay there, but I want results for what I look for and easy browsing down to find it.

Seeing the majority still uses windows as OS, I am also quite convinced those are the same users who will start using google more and more

I used to do hundreds of searches on Google to find products for my retail shop looking for wholesalers. I can't do that now. It is nothing but garbage. With these kinds of results the entire site is worthless to me. I get better results with Alltheweb and Yahoo (now that they have dropped Google).

If you like their results then use them. I can't

Froogle gives me the same pathetic results, simply easier to go to Amazon.com. Would never use GMAIL because you can't delete emails and Google not only indexes them but will provide the results of that indexing to their advertisers. They will also most likely be tracking your clicks as well just like they do with the google toolbar. Used the news service once to get notices on the SCO v. IBM lawsuit and it sent me hundreds of rubbish emails with no content. Never looked for images and have no desire to.

Now, I am the opposite. I used to love Google and would refer people to them all the time. Can't do that now.

Not when Google changed the entire ranking algorithm about 6 months ago to put these sites on top and ruin the rankings of legitimate sites. Not when they eliminate the "democratic" essence of the web and make pagerank worth almost nothing in their ranking algorithms. Not when they completely change what they do and say it is because it gives better results when it doesn't.

If Google doesn't give me what I need, then what good are they? Why would I invest money in garbage?
